There were quaint buildings here and there that displayed the history and age of the city through its architecture.
The hotel I stayed at had a casino - which had to be "on the river". And that building had a river boat motif.

I did not walk the river walk mural wall. I did drive by it a few times. If it had been nicer I think I would have added that to my things to do but spent most of the days walking in the military park.
I did the driving tour as well. The one building on the route that prompted me to get out of the car - the old court house. Impressive from the outside. The inside - reminded me of some of the antique shops in downtown Waxhaw - lots of junk. The courtroom was upstairs and has some history to the Civil War.
